What's on the Retreat Agenda?

One of my favorite things about our annual Baja EcoWarrior Retreat is that you really can make the trip your own.

There will always be more opportunities than time, and while we always encourage you to make the most of your time at the Vermilion Sea Field Station, if you wanna take a nap instead, that's totally cool!

And if you wanna know a little secret...there's a hike that everyone raves about. Apparently the views are just absolutely stunning. But the hike is early in the morning to watch the sunrise, and ya girl likes her sleep, so I've never been on this apparently incredible hike, even though I've been to the station four times now. Will I go this year? We'll find out 😉

But with that said, if you're gonna go on a trip like this, you probably wanna know what's on the schedule. Amiright?

So here's what's happening day-to-day on our Baja EcoWarrior Retreat.

Day 0 (September 6)

Everyone convenes in San Diego! You'll arrive in San Diego by September 6th and stay overnight in a hotel.

This day is not included in your registration, but we do have a preferred hotel (where we'll be beginning and ending our trip), and a block of rooms reserved for attendees. If you want to share a room to save some $$$, that can be coordinated in our Retreat Facebook Group.

Day 1 (September 7)

Depart for Bahía de los Ángeles from San Diego, crossing the border, and stopping for lunch, scenic views, and some mindfulness and stretching along the way.

Arrive in Bahía de los Ángeles around dinnertime and get all settled into Vermilion Sea Field Station.

"The bus ride down was an unexpected pleasure. We took 2 long stops so the day became much more than a drudgery of driving. It had value and texture." - Robin S., Baja EcoWarrior Retreat 2021

Day 2 (September 8)

Morning yoga. Introduction to the retreat, Bahía de los Ángeles, and the field station. Snorkeling lessons and free exploration. Evening discussion and mindfulness exercises.

🧘🏾‍♀️ No yoga experience necessary!
Our yoga leader, Erica, tailors all of our classes to the experience level of the group.

Days 3 - 5 (September 9 - 11)

Morning yoga. Boat trip to a unique ecosystem or snorkeling opportunity. Finding whale sharks! Hiking, beach cleanup, free exploration. Evening discussion and mindfulness exercises.

Day 6 (September 12)

Morning yoga and closing remarks on the beach.

Pack and depart for San Diego, stopping for lunch, scenic views, and stretching along the way. Arrive at hotel in San Diego.

If you are flying home, you'll stay overnight in San Diego and fly out the next day. Sometimes travel takes longer than anticipated and we don't want you rushing or missing your flight! Again, we have a block of rooms reserved and room sharing can be coordinated in the Facebook Group.

Now again, I know it sounds like a lot, but remember you are free to make your own adventure on this retreat.

Take what you need and leave the rest.

And because the views from the station are too good not to share, here are a few of my fave pics from the station:
