If paper towels and plastic sponges had a baby, this would be it. Made from 70% cellulose and 30% cotton, Swedish dishcloths are machine washable and will last for years but are fully backyard-compostable at the end of their life. They're highly absorbent - they can hold 20 times their weight in liquid - and dry super fast so bacteria doesn't grow like it can on traditional plastic sponges.
Our full line of Swedish dishcloths are designed and printed in Seattle using water-based inks. Each collection is available as a set or as individual cloths.

6.75" x 7.5"
70% cellulose, 30% cotton, water-based ink
Just like a sponge, wet your Swedish dishcloth, wring out excess water, and get down to cleaning.
Wash your Swedish dishcloths with the rest of your laundry and hang dry. We prefer to lay them flat to dry or hang with clothespins so they dry flat. Or, pop your dishcloths in the dishwasher on the top rack for a quick wash and sanitize.
Packaging + End of Life
These Swedish dishcloths will either be completely unpackaged or wrapped in reused kraft paper. The kraft paper can be reused or curbside recycled. At the end of their life, cut up your Swedish dishcloths and toss in your backyard compost.

We ship ugly boxes
Our commitment to sustainability doesn't end when you press that checkout button.
We pack all of our orders in reused boxes and envelopes, with reused paper packaging, post-consumer recycled paper labels, and even paper tape.
You may not get an IG-worthy unboxing, but you will get the most sustainable packaging we can possibly find.
Oh and did we mention our shipping is always carbon negative?
Let's go to the real winner in my eyes. Honestly, I could have purchased this exact product many other places, but the packaging A Drop in the Ocean uses to ship will have me coming back time and time gain.
My first purchase from them was some floss a while ago and it arrived in a reused tea box with a hand written note that was written on scrap paper. I was blown away.
I had never seen a company who claimed to be sustainable ACTUALLY prove to be sustainable through and through. The fact that every piece of the packaging was reused and minimal will have me come back over and over again. If I can purchase it here, I will purchase it here.
Swedish Dish Cloths
Our Green Team was very excited when we found the dishcloths and were able to get an order in. Many of us have purchased the Swedish Dish Cloths locally and love them. We are using the items for prizes. Our Winners are excited to be a recipient of the dishcloths.
Swedish dish cloth
I’ve been using the Swedish dish cloths for years now. I also give them away to friends and family —they love them and seem to look forward to their next gift. The cloths from Drop in the Ocean are available printed with a local theme. Can’t get much better than that.
Swedish Dishcloth is awesome
I am so glad I got one of these to try. The absorption capability and durability of this was above my expectations. I also love the design option of Tacoma. Will be getting more for sure.
