Baking, roasting, cooking, freezing — you name it and this Silpat nonstick silicone baking mat is about to be your new best friend for it (just leave the “cutting” out of it!). Ditch parchment paper once and for all with the original silicone baking sheet. Not only does it instantly create a nonstick surface without any grease or oil, it also distributes heat evenly across the sheet for perfect results, every time. One mat is reusable up to 3,000 times, which, when used twice a week, is about a 30-year lifetime.
The optional Sil-Band is like a good ol’ 90s slap bracelet — just slap the band onto your rolled-up Silpat(s) to keep them neatly rolled up together within a 3” space.
BPA- and PFAS-free and FDA-certified 👌

Size
Each silicone mat measures 11 ⅝” x 16 ½“, fitting standard half-size baking sheets.
The Sil-Band measures 1.2” x 9”.
Materials
These silicone baking mats are made with food-grade silicone reinforced with fiberglass mesh. BPA- and phthalate-free.
The Sil-Bands are made with silicone and flexible metal.
To Use
Use one of these silicone mat in place of parchment paper any time, with the smooth side facing up (the textured side prevents it from slipping). No need for butter, grease, oils, or sprays.
When using in the oven, make sure that the mat isn’t touching your oven walls.
Care
Before using for the first time, and before and after each use, wash your silicone baking mat with a natural dish soap and a non-abrasive sponge (we love a Swedish dishcloth for this!). Rinse and let air dry.
Store your mat flat or rolled up. Do not fold it, and do not put anything on top of a rolled mat.
Do not use outside of the listed safe temperature window. Do not use knives, scrapers, brushes, or cutters on the baking mat, and do not place in direct contact with a heat source, such as a grill, burner, flame, oven heating element, or barbecue.
Packaging + End of Life
Each silicone baking mat will come packaged in a cardboard box, which can be curbside recycled.
Each silicone mat should last many, many years to come! Each mat can be used about 3,000 times, or approximately 30 years with twice-weekly use. When the time does come to dispose of your Silpat, it does unfortunately belong in the garbage.

🌎 You care about the planet. So do we.
Look. I get it. It’s HARD to be an EcoWarrior. Someone who cares about the planet and wants the most sustainable products available - from the ingredients to the packaging to the way that product gets to your hands.
It seems like everywhere we turn, someone, somewhere, is greenwashing us.
But our superpower at A Drop in the Ocean is sorting through the BS, calling it out, and making sure our products are the absolute most sustainable and truly zero waste products we can find.
So on top of all the things we mentioned above about what makes our Silpat silicone baking mats so sustainable, here’s a few other things you should know:
- We’re actually practicing what we preach behind the scenes. Each year, we track and record all of our trash, and we wrote a whole blog post on it. The tl;dr version is this: on average, we produce less than 0.5 pounds of trash each month. Everything from the packaging our products come in down to the Sharpie we use to write “Fragile” on your box is zero waste to its core.
- We’re an online-only zero waste store - which is highly intentional. It may seem counter-intuitive, but online shopping is actually more sustainable than in-person. I’m a data nerd at heart and I love diving into the research, and there are countless studies that have shown that online shopping is the most sustainable way to get your everyday essentials. Don’t believe me? Check out our whole blog post on the sustainability of online shopping.
- We ship ugly boxes. Your order from A Drop in the Ocean is not going to arrive in a pretty, branded box. It’s gonna show up in a reused tea box, or a donated Amazon box, or maybe even an inside-out Girl Scout Cookies box. All of our shipping materials are always 100% plastic-free and reused as much as possible, with curbside-recyclable paper tape and a post-consumer recycled paper shipping label. It won’t be pretty, but it will be zero waste.
Got more questions about our zero waste products or our practices behind the scenes? Just send us an email! I’m always happy to chat all things eco.
