* A note about rosewood: Did you know that rosewood (Aniba rosodora) is an endangered species? Yeah, we didn't either. But as of July 2020, the IUCN Red List has officially classified it as endangered, due to urban development, agriculture, and logging. But don't worry - you can still enjoy the floral, earthy delight of rosewood in our laundry detergent, because it doesn't actually contain rosewood! That's right, our rosewood natural laundry detergent is scented with a blend of essential oils to mimic the smell of rosewood, so no endangered species were harmed in the making of our detergent. Enjoy!
To Use
Add 1 tablespoon to your laundry load for regular machines, or a 1/2 tablespoon for high-efficiency machines.
Packaging + End of Life
Ships in a glass jar or a reused plastic bag. When you’re running low, order a new jar here, but select “Refill Jar” or "Refill Bag." If you order a Refill Jar, we’ll include a return label for your old jar so you can send it back at no cost. We’ll sanitize and reuse the jar.
* What's up with the plastic bag?
Our jar lids and bottle pumps come to us in plastic bags. It's one of those things that's out of our control. We've been saving these bags since we launched in 2019, trying to figure out what to do with them. In November 2021, we took to Instagram to find out how you, our EcoWarriors, would feel about using them for shipping laundry detergent. Overwhelmingly you all voted to reuse them. So we've added this as an option!
Now here's what you need to know...
- The intention behind the bags is to be for shipping only, not delivery. The bags reduce weight in shipping and therefore cut costs for both you and us. We also only have a limited amount of these bags. If you are within our delivery radius, we kindly ask that you please choose a jar option, as that is the most sustainable option for delivery.
- We will not be taking these bags back for reuse. We do not have a way to wash and sanitize them effectively.
- We will never purchase plastic bags for this purpose. If we run out, we run out. At that point, then, the only options will be the jars.
We're so grateful to have a community of EcoWarriors that values progress over perfection, and reuse over new. Thank you for helping us give these bags another life!

Refill > Landfill
It's easy to get your everyday essentials refilled, no matter where you live.
Here's how it works...
1. On your first order of a new product, choose the “New Bottle” or “New Jar” option.
This tells us it’s your first time purchasing this product from our online shop.
2. We’ll ship (or deliver) it to you!
If you’ve ordered something liquid (maybe shampoo or body lotion), we will include a plastic pump in your order.
3. When you’re running low, order the same product, but choose the “Refill” option.
We’ll send you another bottle or jar of your chosen product, and will include a return label in the box for your empty container. If you’ve ordered something liquid, the refill order will not include a pump.
If we're delivering your order instead of shipping, just leave your empties on your porch on delivery day (Tuesday) and we'll pick them up when we drop off your new items.
4. If you’ve ordered something liquid, transfer the pump from the old bottle to the new one.
Then place the cap from the new bottle onto the old one.
5. Pack the empty container(s) into the same box the new ones arrived in, put the return label on the box, and hand it off to USPS.
When we receive the empty containers, we will wash and sanitize them, and get them back into circulation to be used again and again.
We ship ugly boxes
Our commitment to sustainability doesn't end when you press that checkout button.
We pack all of our orders in reused boxes and envelopes, with reused paper packaging, post-consumer recycled paper labels, and even paper tape.
You may not get an IG-worthy unboxing, but you will get the most sustainable packaging we can possibly find.
Oh and did we mention our shipping is always carbon negative?
Don't take our word for it...
1% for the Ocean
We're on a mission to use business as a force for good. That's why we donate at least 1% of your purchase to our ocean conservation partner, Vermilion Sea Institute.
In 2021, we donated $1,304 to VSI.
