If paper towels and plastic sponges had a baby, this would be it. Made from 70% cellulose and 30% cotton, Swedish dishcloths are machine washable and will last for years but are fully backyard-compostable at the end of their life. They're highly absorbent - they can hold 20 times their weight in liquid - and dry super fast so bacteria doesn't grow like it can on traditional plastic sponges.
Our full line of Swedish dishcloths are designed and printed in Seattle using water-based inks. Each collection is available as a set or as individual cloths.
6.75" x 7.5"
70% cellulose, 30% cotton, water-based ink
Just like a sponge, wet your Swedish dishcloth, wring out excess water, and get down to cleaning.
Wash your Swedish dishcloths with the rest of your laundry and hang dry. We prefer to lay them flat to dry or hang with clothespins so they dry flat. Or, pop your dishcloths in the dishwasher on the top rack for a quick wash and sanitize.
Packaging + End of Life
These Swedish dishcloths will either be completely unpackaged or wrapped in reused kraft paper. The kraft paper can be reused or curbside recycled. At the end of their life, cut up your Swedish dishcloths and toss in your backyard compost.
Printed locally in Seattle, Washington.

We ship ugly boxes
Our commitment to sustainability doesn't end when you press that checkout button.
We pack all of our orders in reused boxes and envelopes, with reused paper packaging, post-consumer recycled paper labels, and even paper tape.
You may not get an IG-worthy unboxing, but you will get the most sustainable packaging we can possibly find.
Oh and did we mention our shipping is always carbon negative?
Let's go to the real winner in my eyes. Honestly, I could have purchased this exact product many other places, but the packaging A Drop in the Ocean uses to ship will have me coming back time and time gain.
My first purchase from them was some floss a while ago and it arrived in a reused tea box with a hand written note that was written on scrap paper. I was blown away.
I had never seen a company who claimed to be sustainable ACTUALLY prove to be sustainable through and through. The fact that every piece of the packaging was reused and minimal will have me come back over and over again. If I can purchase it here, I will purchase it here.
Plant Parent collection
Love the product and design. Would have loved to been able to get more of this design but you were out at the time
My newest zero waste find in 2020
Probably my FAVORITE Zero Waste product ever! I have become obsessed with Swedish dishcloths and Krystina has such great themes to choose from! I use them for everything, I could rave about them all day long. I use them to wipe down my counters, they replace my paper towels, I use them to clean my bathrooms, etc... The only downfall is that they don't have amazing scrubbing capabilities so they do not really replace a scrubby sponges but that's really the only imperfection! I loved them so much I bought a ton and gifted them to family and friends over the holidays. If you have never tried one, what are you waiting for? They will not disappoint!
Great cleaning cloths
These are wonderful for the kitchen but also for other cleaning. Wash and dry nicely and compostable. Love the colorful designs too!
So cute and functional
Gave as a gift (with a dish soap bar!) and it went over swimmingly! Super cute designs and obviously very functional, and gotta love how easy they are to clean & compost!
Love my first swedish dish cloth! So absorbent and dries quickly. It is great for cleaning off counter tops and the dirt/dust rinses right off like magic!
