Ocean-Friendly SPF 30 Sunscreen (Lavender + Eucalyptus)
Absolutely LOVE this sunscreen. A little bit goes a long way and the small glass container has lasted me all summer long. It smells fabulous and rubs in easily. Great feeling to get that sun protection while also feeling good about what I'm rubbing into my skin. Highly recommend!
Seriously - The Best Sunscreen
I love this stuff! I use it daily - First of all - it smells amazing. You'd never know you are wearing sunscreen. It goes on easily, smoothly, and actually feels really moisturizing! I'm sold for life!
this stuff makes me look forward to applying sunscreen, which is great because it's very sunny where I live. the consistency is also dreamy. thanks ADITO for another sustainable swap!
I like to feel like a sunscreen is really protecting my skin, and this one does. It is a little thick, in that the white streaks need to be blended in, but that's ok with me if I prevent a burn!
It's super-runny. And when I shake the bottle, it leaks out the cap/pump and sprays everywhere. And being a pump, I can't take it traveling. I like the ingredients, but I'm not sure I'd buy it again unless they change the bottle.
A Drop in the Ocean
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your concerns about our sunscreen! I know we've chatted about this via email, but I wanted to update here too that our newest batch of sunscreen is definitely thicker and shouldn't have this problem. I've also spoken with our vendor about this issue and she's going to keep this in mind for future batches to ensure it's not as thin as the batch before. Thank you again for sharing your concerns!
Refill > Landfill
It's easy to get your everyday essentials refilled, no matter where you live.
Here's how it works...
1. On your first order of a new product, choose the “New Bottle” or “New Jar” option.
This tells us it’s your first time purchasing this product from our online shop.
2. We’ll ship (or deliver) it to you!
If you’ve ordered something liquid (maybe shampoo or body lotion), we will include a plastic pump in your order.
3. When you’re running low, order the same product, but choose the “Refill” option.
We’ll send you another bottle or jar of your chosen product, and will include a return label in the box for your empty container. If you’ve ordered something liquid, the refill order will not include a pump.
If we're delivering your order instead of shipping, just leave your empties on your porch on delivery day (Tuesday) and we'll pick them up when we drop off your new items.
4. If you’ve ordered something liquid, transfer the pump from the old bottle to the new one.
Then place the cap from the new bottle onto the old one.
5. Pack the empty container(s) into the same box the new ones arrived in, put the return label on the box, and hand it off to USPS.
When we receive the empty containers, we will wash and sanitize them, and get them back into circulation to be used again and again.
I stumbled across A Drop in the Ocean on my quest to reduce our family's plastic use. I have a small family and live in a rural area with only a few big box stores and zero plastic recycling options. Finding plastic free items locally can be a challenge. I was thrilled to find a shop in my home state that would reuse returned glass and aluminum bottles. I'm a repeat customer as the products are excellent and the shop owner makes it super simple to return our used bottles by mail.
We ship ugly boxes
Our commitment to sustainability doesn't end when you press that checkout button.
We pack all of our orders in reused boxes and envelopes, with reused paper packaging, post-consumer recycled paper labels, and even paper tape.
You may not get an IG-worthy unboxing, but you will get the most sustainable packaging we can possibly find.
Oh and did we mention our shipping is always carbon negative?
Let's go to the real winner in my eyes. Honestly, I could have purchased this exact razor many other places, but the packaging A Drop in the Ocean uses to ship will have me coming back time and time gain.
My first purchase from them was some floss a while ago and it arrived in a reused tea box with a hand written note that was written on scrap paper. I was blown away.
I had never seen a company who claimed to be sustainable ACTUALLY prove to be sustainable through and through. The fact that every piece of the packaging was reused and minimal will have me come back over and over again. If I can purchase it here, I will purchase it here.
