Greenify your morning routine with the OG bamboo toothbrush. With an organic bamboo handle and certified bio-based bristles, this one of the easiest swaps to keep plastic out of your life.
The Nitty-Gritty of "Bio-Based"
The bristles on these toothbrushes are made with castor bean oil, and will eventually fully biodegrade and return to the soil. However, they do not meet the certification requirements to be labeled "biodegradable," since they take longer than one year to fully biodegrade. This also means they do not meet the certifications of "compostable."
For proper disposal, these bristles can be buried or added to backyard compost, but please do not send to a municipal composting facility.
Store in a dry area. We suggest storing in a mason jar with some pebbles, as shown. This allows water to drain off of the brush and prevents mildew.
End of Life
Box: Recycle or compost
Bristles: Backyard compost or buried
Handle: Compost (or get crafty!)
it works great! I was worried about the bristles coming out at first but I've had no such thing happen!
The bristles are perfect for me and my gums, not too hard and not too soft. The handle is sturdy. I have no complaints and I am going to continue to buy these as needed; I'm so glad to not have to buy traditional plastic toothbrushes again.
Hooray!! We're so glad to hear you're happy with these toothbrushes. One less piece of plastic! <3
I found this wonderful company thru an online sustainability charge. Order a toothbrush (cause never throught about my plastic one ) that I trash every 6 months after my dentist app. but WOW. The handle is so soft and the brushes are sift too. I love it. I'm going to talk to my dentist about this product.
We're so glad you found us! Thank you for taking on the EcoChallenge, and for giving a bamboo toothbrush a shot! So glad you love it :)
Love the bamboo toothbrush that I bought. The bristles are the perfect softness for me and best of all the toothbrush is made with no plastic whatsoever and is even shipped and packaged plastic-free. Great product!
We're so glad you love your toothbrush! We would like to clarify that the handle is 100% bamboo, but the bristles are 62% castor bean oil and 38% nylon (aka plastic). There is not currently a fully biodegradable animal product-free toothbrush on the market. There are some made with animal hair for the bristles, but they require a large amount of upkeep - more than even we know we'd keep up with! When it comes time to dispose of your toothbrush, please remove the bristles (pliers work well here), throw those away, and compost the handle (or perhaps use as a fire starter or in crafty projects). Thank you for your review, and we are again so glad you love your toothbrush. We love it and use it too!
It's great and it keeps plastic out of the landfill!
