Conditioner: Organic aloe leaf juice, cetearyl alcohol, castor oil, stearalkonium chloride, phenoxyethanol chloride, phenoxyethanol hydrolyzed wheat protein, provitamin B5, essential oils

Packaging + End of Life

Packaged in aluminum bottles with plastic pumps (new bottles) or aluminum caps (refills).

When you’re running low, order a new bottle here, but select “Refill.” We’ll ship your new bottles without pumps, and include a return label for your old bottles so you can send them back at no cost. Transfer your pumps to the new bottles, pack the empty bottles in the box, and send it back to us. We’ll sanitize and reuse the bottles.

Switching from an 8oz to a 16oz? Select the "new" option so we include a new pump as well!

Let's go to the real winner in my eyes. Honestly, I could have purchased this exact product many other places, but the packaging A Drop in the Ocean uses to ship will have me coming back time and time gain.
My first purchase from them was some floss a while ago and it arrived in a reused tea box with a hand written note that was written on scrap paper. I was blown away.
I had never seen a company who claimed to be sustainable ACTUALLY prove to be sustainable through and through. The fact that every piece of the packaging was reused and minimal will have me come back over and over again. If I can purchase it here, I will purchase it here.

Give it time

This shampoo was exactly what I was looking for. It cleans without stripping the hair's natural oils, has left my hair feeling healthier than it ever has, AND I can now go longer between washes. Having said that, I almost gave up on it multiple times in the first month because there's definitely an adjustment period. My hair type: Fine, straight, dark brown hair that tends toward being oily. I had carefully trained it to wash every other day without it looking too bad on the second day, but by the third day my hair was always a grease bomb. I rarely used conditioner because it just weighed it down. The transition: My hair definitely got more greasy before it got better. Reading the other long review below mine really helped me. Some other tips -- 1) Apply the shampoo in small pumps to different areas of your scalp. Because it doesn't lather much, it's hard to spread it around if you put it all in one spot initially. 2) Massage into your scalp really well. 3) Rinse well. The first few times I used this I noticed my hair still felt soapy/slippery when I was towel drying it. Even though it doesn't really suds up, it does take a little extra time to rinse. Now: For the first time in my life, I am waking up on day 3, and thinking that my hair still doesn't look too greasy. It feels soft and healthy after each wash, and doesn't get the rebound greasiness that it used to get with regular shampoo. I don't use the conditioner, but with my hair type I still don't feel like I need it.
