Dish soap is often one of the most difficult swaps to find when embarking on a zero waste journey. Sometimes a DIY option works, and sometimes it doesn't. (I've never found one to work for me.)
If you're in the same boat and are tired of choosing between plastic bottles and residue, try our local, vegan, palm oil free, and package free solid dish soap bar. Made right here in Tacoma, this 12-ounce block of soap is sure to make the worst part of home cooking, dare we say, enjoyable.
Please note that all of our soaps are made by hand and therefore may differ slightly from those pictured.
Size
Full size bar is 12 ounces. Trial size bar is 3 ounces.
Ingredients
Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, Aloe Vera, Distilled Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Saponaria Extract, Citric Acid, Mineral Salt, Baking Soda, Essential Oil Blend for Scent
To Use
Wet your favorite dish cloth or brush, lather the soap bar, and wash dishes as usual. If you prefer to fill your sink with water and soap to wash your dishes, simply hold the bar under the running water for a few moments while the sink fills.
Packaging + End of Life
These soap bars will either be completely unpackaged or wrapped in reused kraft paper, which can be home composted if there is soap residue left on the wrapping. If the wrapping is completely clean, it can be recycled with curbside paper recycling.
When the bar gets too small to use easily, we recommend adding it to a sisal soap saver bag with any other soap ends you may have.
