What makes our reusable unpaper towels the best around?

A few years ago, smack dab in the middle of the Panini, I decided to whip up three sets of reusable unpaper towels - just for funsies, just to see how our EcoWarriors would like them.

I had already made myself a set in college that were still going strong 7 years later and I absolutely loved never buying paper towels, so I figured why not give 'em a shot for the EcoWarriors too?

What I was not prepared for was the abundance of excitement and how much of a need this community had for a sustainable paper towel alternative in their kitchen.

Since then, our reusable unpaper towels have been one of our most in-demand, most anticipated swaps - ever.

And we only release them once a year.

I could talk for DAYS about what makes our unpaper towels superior to the others you typically see on the eco-market these days.

Honestly...there's no comparison.

Our reusable unpaper towels are...

  • Made with 100% cotton - even the thread! (This is surprisingly rare.)
  • Made with fabrics designed by independent artists who receive a commission for their work when we purchase the fabric.
  • Made with the most sustainable fabric we can find. (Read all about it on our blog!)
  • Dual-layer with a cotton terrycloth underside for superior absorbency and far less smearing than flannel.
  • Pre-washed to prevent shrinkage and increase absorbency.
  • Made with metal snaps to easily roll together onto a paper towel holder.
  • Sewn with a double seam for extra durability over time.
  • Machine washable.

Are our unpaper towels more expensive than others you may have seen?

Yes.

But the sustainability, durability, and longevity that is woven (literally) into our reusable paper towels is unmatched.

(Not to mention the plethora of Instagram reels I've seen of single-ply unpaper towels being sewn in literal seconds versus our dual-ply towels that require ~significantly~ more time to wash, dry, iron, cut, pin, sew, trim, flip, iron, sew, and snap. I won't lie to you, friend...sometimes I get jealous of those seconds-long videos 😅 But I know that the work that's put into our unpaper towels is so, so, so worth it.)

The average family spends about $200 or more on paper towels - just in one year.

If that's you, friend, you could purchase two full-size sets of unpaper towels and a full set of reusable Swedish dishcloths and still come out at less than $200 - and then never buy paper towels ever again. (Or maybe like one roll a year for those real gross messes.)
