Care
Store in a dry spot between uses. Got rust? Soak in vinegar and baking soda and wipe clean.

Packaging + End of Life
This razor comes with a hemp carrying pouch, but is otherwise unpackaged. The blades are packaged in a cardboard box, individually wrapped in paper for safety.
The razor should last many lifetimes with proper care, but if something happens and it's time for retirement, all pieces of the razor body can be curbside recycled.
The blades should be returned to Albatross for recycling. Details can be found here. If you're in Tacoma, you can return to blades to us, and we'll send them back to Albatross for you. Please do not put blades in curbside recycling. This can be incredibly dangerous for humans working at the recycling facilities.

Loving the utilitarian-ness of this.
So far so good! I love the close shave I can get with this, and that the refills are just razor blades that can be recycled. (I also use razor blades for bread-scoring, so it's extra nice to know about the recycling options). Like a lot of other folks, it's taking me a bit to adjust my shaving habits and get the angle right. Another concern I've seen is that there's less grip on the handle of the razor. For me, it's not just that there's less grip, but also that the razor is quite weighty. So I've been nervous to try shaving while standing in the shower where I'll need to compete more with gravity, (as opposed to a shallow bath or the edge of the tub), and there's more leg to pass by/potentially cut, should I drop the razor. Yesterday, though, I had the idea to add some grip back by wrapping a rubber band around the handle of the razor, and it definitely helped and gave me the confidence to try things standing up! Of course, this now isn't a 100% no-waste option, but we have rubber bands just come into our life via veggies or whatever, so I think it's a good reuse option. I'm not sure yet if this is going to be a pain to dry out, or if I'll just be able to remove the band once in a while.

Love my new razor!!!
Ok I’m famous for nicking my skin with razors, so I was a little hesitant, but after watching the video I had great success. Now, I enjoy a shaving experience that leaves me with nice smooth skin. Ahhhhh. Im not going back to plastic razors that get dull after one use and go in the garbage. This is an experience everyone should have. Be sure to buy the shave bar!

Kudos to the Safety Razor
It had been a long time since I'd used a straight edge razor so of course, the first time I used it, I nicked my shin pretty badly. That was a few weeks ago though and not only has it recovered, I haven't nicked it again! Whether I nick myself again or not though, I am glad to be using a razor that is environmentally friendly. I've had years of using razors made with plastic and want to do all I can to help our planet recover as much as it might be able to.

Works better than you can imagine!
I love this razor so much! It gives me the smoothest shave I've ever had. It doesn't irritate my skin, and i don't have to exchange the blade very frequently, so it is very cost effective!
