Friend, meet the most versatile soap you can have in your arsenal. Ultra-concentrated castile soap is gentle enough for baby's bath time but tough enough to make your bathroom shine.

Here are some of our favorite uses:
DIY Tub Scrub (this changed my life - no joke)
Brush Cleaner (add a squirt of castile soap to a small bowl of water)
All-Purpose Cleaner (mix 1 tbsp with 1 cup warm water in a spray bottle)

Ingredients

Water, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Castor Oil, Potassium Hydroxide*, Citric Acid, Rosemary Extract

*Potassium hydroxide is used during the soap making process to saponify fats and oils, resulting in a liquid soap. No potassium hydroxide remains after saponification and is not present in the finished product.

Packaging + End of Life

Our organic castile soap ships in an aluminum (8oz) or glass (8oz or 16oz) bottle with a plastic pump.

When you’re running low, order a new bottle here, but select “Refill.” We’ll ship your new bottle without a pump, and include a return label for your old bottle so you can send it back at no cost. Transfer your pump to the new bottle, pack the empty bottle in the box, and send it back to us. We’ll sanitize and reuse the bottle.

Don't want the pump? Just choose the "Refill" option instead!

refills to your doorstep

Refill > Landfill

It's easy to get your everyday essentials refilled, no matter where you live.

Here's how it works...

1. On your first order of a new product, choose the “New Bottle” or “New Jar” option.
This tells us it’s your first time purchasing this product from our online shop.

2. We’ll ship (or deliver) it to you!
If you’ve ordered something liquid (maybe shampoo or body lotion), we will include a plastic pump in your order.

3. When you’re running low, order the same product, but choose the “Refill” option.
We’ll send you another bottle or jar of your chosen product, and will include a return label in the box for your empty container. If you’ve ordered something liquid, the refill order will not include a pump.

If we're delivering your order instead of shipping, just leave your empties on your porch on delivery day (Tuesday) and we'll pick them up when we drop off your new items.

4. If you’ve ordered something liquid, transfer the pump from the old bottle to the new one.
Then place the cap from the new bottle onto the old one.

5. Pack the empty container(s) into the same box the new ones arrived in, put the return label on the box, and hand it off to USPS.
When we receive the empty containers, we will wash and sanitize them, and get them back into circulation to be used again and again.

I stumbled across A Drop in the Ocean on my quest to reduce our family's plastic use. I have a small family and live in a rural area with only a few big box stores and zero plastic recycling options. Finding plastic free items locally can be a challenge. I was thrilled to find a shop in my home state that would reuse returned glass and aluminum bottles. I'm a repeat customer as the products are excellent and the shop owner makes it super simple to return our used bottles by mail.

We ship ugly boxes

Our commitment to sustainability doesn't end when you press that checkout button.

We pack all of our orders in reused boxes and envelopes, with reused paper packaging, post-consumer recycled paper labels, and even paper tape.

You may not get an IG-worthy unboxing, but you will get the most sustainable packaging we can possibly find.

Oh and did we mention our shipping is always carbon negative?

Don't take our word for it...

Let's go to the real winner in my eyes. Honestly, I could have purchased this exact razor many other places, but the packaging A Drop in the Ocean uses to ship will have me coming back time and time gain.

My first purchase from them was some floss a while ago and it arrived in a reused tea box with a hand written note that was written on scrap paper. I was blown away.

I had never seen a company who claimed to be sustainable ACTUALLY prove to be sustainable through and through. The fact that every piece of the packaging was reused and minimal will have me come back over and over again. If I can purchase it here, I will purchase it here.
