Tired of buying pads and tampons every month, just to throw them in the trash? Over a lifetime, this adds up to somewhere between 5,000 and 15,000 pads and tampons. Yikes.
That's why we love period underwear. Use them on their own or as a backup to a menstrual cup, period undies are one of our favorite sustainable essentials.
We've chosen Saalt brand because their designs are thinner than others we've tried, so you'll never feel bulky or uncomfortable. The gusset (aka the crotch) quickly absorbs wetness, keeping you dry and comfortable longer.
If you're like us, you'll be tempted to wear them even when you're not on your period!
Each pair of undies is about as absorbent as 2-3 tampons.
On the fence? Check out our blog post on the five reasons to switch to reusable period products!
HSA / FSA Eligible
Under the CARES Act, all menstrual products - including period underwear and menstrual cups - are eligible for heath savings account or flexible spending account use.
Body: 80% Recycled Polyester, 20% Elastane
Mesh: 83% Polyamide, 17% Elastane
Lining: 100% Polyester
Gusset: 92% Recycled Polyester, 8% Spandex
Each pair is made with 3 post-consumer recycled water bottles!
Wear just like any other pair of undies during your period, without pads, liners, or tampons.
Rinse with cold water after wearing to help avoid staining. Machine wash with like colors on cold (your other laundry will survive, I promise) and hang to dry. We recommend washing in a delicates bag for some extra care. Do not use fabric softener, bleach, or iron. Check out our full guide for even more details on caring for your period undies.
Packaging + End of Life
100% post-consumer recycled paper envelope. The envelope your undies arrive in is 100% recyclable with paper recycling. Because of the mixed fabrics, when these undies have reached the end of their usable life, we recommend taking them to a textile recycling facility.

We ship ugly boxes
Our commitment to sustainability doesn't end when you press that checkout button.
We pack all of our orders in reused boxes and envelopes, with reused paper packaging, post-consumer recycled paper labels, and even paper tape.
You may not get an IG-worthy unboxing, but you will get the most sustainable packaging we can possibly find.
Oh and did we mention our shipping is always carbon negative?
Let's go to the real winner in my eyes. Honestly, I could have purchased this exact product many other places, but the packaging A Drop in the Ocean uses to ship will have me coming back time and time gain.
My first purchase from them was some floss a while ago and it arrived in a reused tea box with a hand written note that was written on scrap paper. I was blown away.
I had never seen a company who claimed to be sustainable ACTUALLY prove to be sustainable through and through. The fact that every piece of the packaging was reused and minimal will have me come back over and over again. If I can purchase it here, I will purchase it here.
Great underwear for periods
I've been using this underwear in addition to my menstrual cup for a while and it is fantastic. It absorbs well and is easy to clean/wash. I did accidentally put it in the drier once (which you're not supposed to it) but it seems to still be working fine. I love the mission and work that the Saalt brand is doing, so I'm glad that I could support them and ADITO with this purchase.
I bought these as an addition to my other low waste period products and I'm very happy about it. I have a medium to heavy flow and these lasted double the time of a normal cotton pad for me. They are also great as a failsafe for when I was using a period cup. I am 5'10" with a curvy build so I went with the Large and they fit snug but not too tight.
The absolute best period underwear on the market!
These are the best period underwear! They are thin and absorbent. My Daughter loves them. Highly Recommend!!
Was I even on my period?
I love sitting around my house without pants on especially when I'm on my period. These are truly a gamechanger. Highly recommend period underwear.
Don’t know what I did before these!
Absolutely LOVE LOVE them. Made my week so much simpler and no waste! I will definitely buy a few more and I’m excited to share with friends too.
