I have curly 2B hair and this did not work for me.
My initial experience with this product was the overwhelming smell. I could smell the package in my mailbox as I was walking up to get it. Upon opening the package, I noticed that the conditioner bar had partially melted, and I thought perhaps that was why the smell was so overpowering. I immediately took the bars into my bathroom so I could use when I showered the next day. They could be smelled throughout the house (1200 square feet home) even with the bathroom door closed. I was a little worried but thought nothing of it. Unbeknownst to me, my partner and child also were overwhelmed by the smell, but they thought a neighbor must be using really strong drier sheets (that is what these bars smell like). Nonetheless I was so excited to use them and did so the next day. Yes the smell was extreme and overpowering and did not fade at all in my hair, but I was willing to put up with it if I found a curly shampoo and conditioner bar that I could use instead of making my own. I am not sure what type of curl this would be good for, but these bars made my hair feel like I hadn’t washed it in two weeks. It weighed down my curls and just made them look lanky. (I have 2B hair down to my waist, and generally I call it my lion’s mane). I thought maybe it was the conditioner bar (and I blamed it for being the super smelly one anyway), so I decided that my next shower I would only use the shampoo bar. Well, it was slightly better just the one bar, but not enough for me to ever recommend to anyone else. I’m trying to think of who I can give them away to, and trying not to think of how much money I just dropped on something I’m trying to give away. I’ve got the curliest hair I know, I don’t know anyone with curlier hair that I can give used shampoo/conditioner bars to. There’s my two-cents, and I wish I would’ve read feedback like this before making my purchase
Not for all hair types
I bought these earlier in 2021, and I have frizzy oily hair. I though that I could switch to these bars but when I did, my hair felt as greasy and oily as the day I stopped using store bought shampoo and conditioner. The bar didn’t lather us at all and left my hair thick, oily, gross. After this I tried some other shampoo bars and none seemed to work for my hair, I finally found a liquid soap that I could use that was sustainable and suited my hair, leaving it clean. Not for oily hair.
Great Shampoo and Conditioner!
These shampoo and conditioner are great. My hair feels soft and nourished, I'm subscribing to these with my next purchase!
A good swap for regular shampoo
This product is an excellent alternative to shampoo in a plastic bottle. And it also seems to a better job of cleaning.
The shampoo and conditioner bars work well and smell good! Conditioner bars are always tricky some they don’t lather up like the shampoo bar, but I like how it makes my hair feel!

Oh and did we mention our shipping is always carbon negative?
Let's go to the real winner in my eyes. Honestly, I could have purchased this exact razor many other places, but the packaging A Drop in the Ocean uses to ship will have me coming back time and time gain.
My first purchase from them was some floss a while ago and it arrived in a reused tea box with a hand written note that was written on scrap paper. I was blown away.
I had never seen a company who claimed to be sustainable ACTUALLY prove to be sustainable through and through. The fact that every piece of the packaging was reused and minimal will have me come back over and over again. If I can purchase it here, I will purchase it here.
