13 reviews
Regular price$11.00

Dishwashing made easy! Our PVA-free dishwasher pods are handmade with love right here in western Washington, using simple, easy-to-pronounce ingredients. Simply pop one in the detergent dispenser of your dishwasher, and these puppies will get to work making your dishes sparkle.

Zero plastic, zero film, zero waste.

Pro-Tip: Want extra sparkle? Add distilled white vinegar to your dishwasher's rinse aid dispenser!

Washing Soda, Dendritic Salt, Grapefruit + Lemon Essential Oil Blend, Distilled Water

To Use

Add one pod to the detergent dispenser of your dishwasher. Use all settings as normal.

Please note that some of our EcoWarriors with harder water have experienced a white film residue after using these pods. For some, a little white vinegar in the rinse aid clears it right up. For others, it's a bit more persistent. While we love these pods and hope you love them as much as we do, if you have hard water, please keep this in mind when making your purchasing decision. In response to this concern, we have a second dishwasher pod option that seems to work better with hard water that may be a better solution for your home.

Packaging + End of Life

Wrapped in reused kraft paper, which can be home composted, with minimal paper tape.

Best, safest, least toxic way to clean dishes

These amazing pods are not only plastic free (never even use minimal amounts of plastics in your diet), they are also non-toxic. Just compare the ingredient list to any name brand soap you buy almost anywhere. Imagine, the plastic chemicals and toxic chemicals all coating your dishes and being expelled into your drinking water basin. Not good. Thankfully, these are a highly effective (really clean and smell great, naturally) option to clean and keep your family safe, hormones untouched and water supply safer. I use vinegar in the rinse compartment…look at that ingredient list sometime and ask yourself … where does all that go and how does it affect your body. Then switch. You’ll love these pods and vinegar rinse.

We were excited to try these, but unfortunately they have proved to be not at all ready for primetime. Not only did it not clean our dishes, but it left everything coated in a thick white powder that took vigorous scrubbing with a scouring pad to remove. The strangest thing of all was that this coating seemed to actually seal the dirt onto the dishes. Even dirt that would normally rinse off just with water alone was still clinging to many of the dishes. We tried three times to use this. The first time we used no rinse-aid. The second time we tried with rinse aid, and the third time we tried the suggestion of adding vinegar to the rinse-aid dispenser. Nothing made any difference; if anything, the thick white coating seemed worst when we used the vinegar. I see from the reviews that this works for some people. Perhaps it varies with the hardness or softness of the water? Perhaps the factory that makes them isn't doing good quality control on the contents? All I can say is that if this were the only dishwashing detergent we had in the house we would never use our dishwasher as it only makes our dishes dirtier than they were to begin with.

Really want to Love

I really want to love these, I was excited about them not having a plastic coating. Looking at others' reviews I'm not sure if it's just me or the batch I got, but I've had a couple of issues. All of my dishes have been covered in a white, powdery-like film and some of my dishes in each of the loads done so far did not get clean. I appreciate it if anyone has ideas about what is happening.

Hi Maridith! I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with these pods. Your water hardness could have something to do with it. I've had the white film a couple of times in the past and adding some distilled white vinegar to my rinse aid dispenser took care of that problem easily! Give that a shot and let me know how it goes :)

No plastic packaging at all! I keep these in a small tin on the counter. It works great!

Hassle free pods

I love these hardworking pods. They get the job done, they don’t take up a ton of space under the kitchen sink, and when they are all gone there isn’t a large plastic container that you have to send to the landfill. I add a little vinegar to the dishwasher so there is no water marks on glasses.

Don't take our word for it...

Let's go to the real winner in my eyes. Honestly, I could have purchased this exact razor many other places, but the packaging A Drop in the Ocean uses to ship will have me coming back time and time gain.

My first purchase from them was some floss a while ago and it arrived in a reused tea box with a hand written note that was written on scrap paper. I was blown away.

I had never seen a company who claimed to be sustainable ACTUALLY prove to be sustainable through and through. The fact that every piece of the packaging was reused and minimal will have me come back over and over again. If I can purchase it here, I will purchase it here.
